Parent and sub-issues
Break a larger Issue into smaller pieces of work in the same Team.

Show an Integrity parent Issue with three synthetic sub-issues, their statuses, assignees, and the direct-child progress ring.
Overview
Use sub-issues when one task needs smaller steps or several owners. Each child remains an Issue with its own status and assignee. In Integrity, a parent and its children must stay in the same Team.
Create a sub-issue
- Open the parent Issue.
- Use Sub-issues to add a child.
- Enter the title, review its properties, and create it.
You can also draft children from … → Add sub-issue while creating a parent. Finish or cancel the open child editor before submitting the parent. If a child fails afterward, use Retry sub-issues to finish the remaining drafts.
Creating children from selected text, comments, pasted title lists, or templates is (coming soon).
Copy properties
- Team and parent are fixed when creating beneath an Issue.
- Priority and the primary Feature are copied as editable defaults.
- The parent's assignee is copied when that person is still assignable.
- Labels are not copied.
Status automation
A Team manager can enable Parent auto-close in Issue Workflows. When all active direct children are completed or canceled, Integrity can move the parent to the configured completed status.
Cascade parent auto-close repeats that check upward through eligible ancestors. It does not reopen completed ancestors.
Automatically closing children when their parent closes is (coming soon).
Converting issues
Turn issues into sub-issues
Use Set parent on an Issue. For a selection, use Actions → Mark as → Sub-issue of…, choose a parent, and confirm the preview. Circular and cross-Team parent links are not allowed.
Turn issues into parent issues
Use Mark as → Parent of… for one Issue and choose its child. Or select several Issues and use Create related → Parent issue… to create a parent above them.
Turn sub-issues into issues
Choose Remove parent. The Issue returns to the top level without deleting its work. Bulk removal previews how many selected Issues have a parent.
Turn issues into Features (coming soon)
Direct conversion is not available. Create a Feature separately and link the relevant Issues to it.
Filter sub-issues
Use hierarchy filters to show top-level Issues, sub-issues, or Issues with children. Display controls can hide completed children. Only work you can access contributes visible rows and progress.
Display options
Use the Sub-issues display controls to choose visible properties and whether completed children appear.

The ring summarizes direct children, not the entire nested tree. Each level has its own progress.
Deleting a parent can detach surviving children or delete its eligible hierarchy, depending on the confirmed option. Restore does not revive children deleted independently. See Delete and archive issues.
